my younger sister is having a total hysterectomy due to preventing cancer/ she has the BRCA2gene and is going for surgery on July 31st how much weight will she lose she is 39 yrs old
I had a hysterectomy last February due to cancer. I am happy to say that I have been cancer free ever since. The surgeon performed the surgery robotically, I only had a few small incisions on my stomach so my recovery time was a few weeks. I was up and about 3 days after the surgery and feeling back to normal within 3 weeks. The only complaint that I had was that I was extremely tired and this lasted quite a while. (The surgeon told me that this was to be expected and could last up to a year) I have lost 50 lbs since the surgery and I have not changed my diet whatsoever. I am a diabetic and have other health issues, the weight loss has helped me with my other health concerns. I feel great and am blessed to have caught the cancer in its early stage (it was contained in my uterus) The weight loss was an unexpected blessing. I think each person is different so you can't really say how much a person will lose or gain after surgery. Also after the surgery you can not soak in a bath or swim until cleared by the doctor. I did have some mild cramping but that disappeared in a few days. Again each person is different and the how the surgery is performed makes a difference
I am loosing weight gradually till date since 2000 after removal of uterus unlike others, what do i do to gain weight like others?
I had the surgery yesterday, my uterus was the size of a cantaloupe. I am hoping to lose weight.
Thank you for the positive feedback/info. I am due for a total hysterectomy in a few hours and I decided to search the web how it will look after surgery. I found this youtube info that was totally negative and devastating that I felt depressed and wanting to cancel. I am thankful that there are positives as well which gives me more strength. Thanks to all!
I must apologize. The thumbs down on your post was due to my thick thumbs on this iPad! I am so sorry. I don't know how to undo it. Again, my apologies!! New to this site.
Hello,
Im a virgin and I am 20. I was woried about my hymen after masterbation (2 times only) and I decided to go to my general dr. to see if my hymen was intact. She said that my hymen was intact, but what does that mean? Will I bleed the frist time I have intercourse? Did my hymen stretch to accommdate whatever it was that I entered? If it did not break, does that mean I have a highly oestrogenated hymen?
I lost weight too about 10 pounds. My appetite was decreased and even now 12 weeks later i eat small meals and the weight is staying off. I am going to start walking as soon and hopefully it will continue.
Anyone had vaginal hysterectomy and bladder sling due to prolapsed bladder and uterus? I'm very anxious about this.
Hi ladies... I'm so glad that I found this site. I'm 46 with a 27 year old son and an 18 year old daughter. I'm scheduled for a Hysterectomy Jan 12th, 2015. I have 3 fybroid tumors. My uterus is 21 cm....It's very large and I'm always in pain, having to go to the rest room, crazy periods, breast soreness and always tired....I can't wait until that day for relief. Thank you ladies for confirming with positive comments and stories!!!!
