It says this post was over a year ago, how is your pain now? I had hip replacement exactly a year ago. At six months I had the same pain. My doctor said it would improve over time. It has only gotten worse and some days I can barely walk.

why would you think I am having pain after having partial hip surgery three and a half years ago

I have the exact same thing. Started 11 months after my THR. Tried everything and all tests are negative. If I relax the leg I can walk oainfree for 30 ft and then it feels like my muscle is ripping mid thigh. Did you ever find an answer??

Why, after 8 months from hip surgery, does pain appear in upper thigh and on down the leg? What can I do for it?

I had my THR on the right side done in March 2017. I just turned 50 in June and am experiencing the same symptoms as above relating to inner and outer thigh pain. I am going to see my podiatrist soon as judging from the complaints above I suggest we should still have an inner sole done for walking. I am very active and find that the pain becomes intense if my day was hectic or the weather changes. especially if i am on my feet a few hours, I hate the stiffness I experience if i sit too long.

The surgeon can measure his x ray and tell you how much longer it actually is. My left hip is 1/2 inch longer. My other hip came out exactly the same as my original hip I was born with. Do you know how much longer it is?

Have you ever been tested for Lyme Disease?

That helped me. I was beginning to worry about my condition. Im active and in good physical healthbut 6 months (incredible pain free) after THR and a trip through Asia my hip and low back are stiff and groin/left side of hip is painful. Sao I a really counting on the bone repairing it!!
thank you for your message.

I am curious to know since you wrote that post a year ago, how is your pain now? Or do you not have any pain at all? I'm just trying to gauge do I have to live with this pain the rest of my life? I'm 8 months in post-surgery and it just started last week mid thigh (outer leg) where the indent of your leg is. I now have a limp when I walk. Everything was fine until last week.

Please see your doctor, especially if you received a metal-on- metal implant to rule out metallosis... the body experiencing a toxic reaction to the metal used to make the implant.

Hello Mike, I was wondering if you have figured out your discomfort in your femur bone. I had total hip replacement three years ago and have the same issue. Have gone to New York downtown Chicago hospitals and I’ve seen different doctors with no help. If you have any information on the matter I would really appreciate it.
