Hi, I'm still numb after 10 months...and tight of course. Is anyone still tight and numb? I'm afraid I might have nerve damage... B

Yes I had neck lift, brow lift, face lift and upper and lower eyes done. My neck, forehead and sides of face by ears are still numb. I had done 10 months ago It is driving me crazy. I am wondering also if my nerve damage is permanent
It has been 5 months since my lower face lift. I am in constant pain, feels like a tight wide band under my entire chin area. I have tried lymphatic drainage massage for the swelling, and myofascial release therapy for the duct tape feeling and nothing helps. I am left with this constant pain, a huge double chin that is filled with edema and a tight rope like chin strap in addition to the above. Also had constant muscle tightness which has relaxed somewhat. Still cannot turn my head fully. Is this going to be for the rest of my life?
I had a neck lift in the beginning of Sept., and it is not quite 3 weeks and I have these lumps, or bands of lumps that come around my neck like collars. My neck is tight feeling also. I don't know what to do. I have compression stocking I can wear at nght and can try to massage. Some other posts I have read say this is normal. ?????
I had the same procedure done and 18 months later, same numbness/tightness far sides of cheeks, ears and under the jaw..like a noose around my neck as you say. This has changed the quality of my life, and not for the better...very difficult to concentrate on anything, especially writing, bookkeeping or reading. Only relief is when I lay down on a pillow. I will be seeking advice from a medical malpractice attorney soon.
It has been over a year since you created this post. I am hoping you are still reading and can respond. How have things progressed for you since? It has been just about a month for me and I still cannot smile or laugh as I used to. I had lipo under chin/neck with a tiny scar under chin and behind each ear. PS said it will take some time for the nerves to heal and that I should continue to massage under my neck. I feel like I traded a beautiful, healthy smile and laugh for a wrinkly neck. I feel paralyzed and deformed. Have things improved for you in the past year?
I live in the Charlotte area and I am 3 weeks post-op from face lift . I would love the name of your massage therapist!
I was diagnosed withbatype 1.5 LADA right after necklift over a yr ago last April. The result has been numbness, tightness, painful sensations in my neck, hands and feet. I am now on Neurontin which seemed to help a lot, now not so much. I am beside myself from this, in fact, up all night from the painful sensations, but I found your post. I would absolutely like to correspond. If you would like to talk by phone, that would be great. Still amazed I found you tonight. My life is totally changed from this. To reply, send a message back (your email will be kept private):
I am only 3 weeks post op tomorrow, so really can't complain. I'm so very sorry you have had so many problems. I would be happy to chat by phone. My number is 704-575-4352. What is your name or number so I'll recognize you if you call?
I just had precision TX last Friday and they said I would be back to work on Monday. I was extremely swollen, stiff and have lower and neck facial numbness. I can not smile correctly or depress my lower lip. freaking out too. I know it has only been four day but I did not sign on for this nor was I told about any possibility of prolonged numbness. Went yesterday to doctor and she said she should have told me but it is normal. I feel I was just being told this to calm me down. Neck is tight but not sure if that is from the swelling. Brusing happened on third day...brusing is not bad at all...so one thing is going well. Haven't gone back to work yet as I am talking with a lisp. I will never do this again.
Hi, I did have a neck lift and the dictor tolme it was going to heal. He was lying! I a lot of pain on my right ear and I feel my neck so tide. And unbearable pain on both sides if my face. I spend my miney going to several doctors and my general dr Carmen told me I have nerve damage! i know how you feel! The dr who did the neck lift had me on anxiety and sleeping pills for 6 months . At the begining I felt ok with te medecine but then I felt pain and they increase to 2 pills. I'm very frustrared and sad Dr Carmen is reducing the anxiety doses. I feel horrible with pain and very sad! What a lier. What a night mare!!!! I'm going to make an appoinment with another PS for a second opinion.
I had a face/neck lift and have nerve damage in my lower lip area. PS called it trauma to my Marginal Mandibular nerve to my lower lip....Apparently done when PS was cauterizing a bleeder I was told. I can't smile correctly and I have no control over my lower right lip area. Told it can take 6 months or more to heal. Has been very psychologically depressing for me ~ face/neck lift results at 2 months are fantastic, but nerve damage especially with elective surgery is absolutely heartbreaking. I even have trouble pronouncing some words . Family / friends, even strangers notice my mishapened mouth when I speak....................Not much change even at 2 months..........keeping finger's crossed for better results in time........................
Wow It is such a relief to read that other people are expericing the same things I am! I so agree about the HUGE lie of you'll be able to go back to work in 2 weeks with a little conclealer. It really is alot more tramatic and takes alot longer to heal and look human then they tell you. And yes there is a significant amount of depression even for those of us who aren't normally prone to it.  If you have not gone to a lymphic massage therapist get on line immediatley and find one. She has made 100% difference in how I look and feel. It has add cost I didn't anticipate BUT she is worth it. And if the 1st one isn't that great find another. SO WORHT IT. Brings down the swelling immediately and helps with the pain and healing. This is the one thing that the PS didn't exaggerate.  I had a massive hematoma 4 days after surgery that blew my neck up past my ears on both sides. It was a Saturday and took the doctor 3 hours to round up his staff. My blood pressure by that time was sky high and they couldn't sedate me so I had all the work done to remove and repair without anesthesia. Lets just say it is pain that can not be described. The only good thing was my doctor was able to fix everything without ruining the neck and face lift. I am concerned about the crepy skin uner my chin but I can't think too much about it or I want to run out in traffic. Thanks everyone for all your good ideas and sharing. This is one of those things that is hard to talk about with someone who hasn't had the surery. Lots of shame and guilt.
Still tight and tingly on one side after 4 years
I live in Charlotte and I would very much like the name of your RN massage therapist. Thank you
I feel numb ,( a numb feeling even though it's really not numb justa weird weird feeling. ) scalp still itches a little, feels like my neck is being pulled tight a year and 3 months out. 2nd opinion the dr said if I haven't felt any relief in this  time frame it's permanent. Nothing the dr did just happens to some people. If I'd have known this was the feeling you got I would never have done it.
