Audible noise when moving my eyes

This doesn't happen always, but between 5-10 times a week I will hear (or appear to hear) a noise which vaguely sounds like someone quickly ripping a piece of paper or cloth when I move my eyes from one point to another (left to right, up to down, etc). I guess I'm just trying to figure out is this really happening, or am I suffering from some type of auditory hallucination?
There doesn't seem to be any single set of circumstances it occurs in.
Has anyone heard of anything like this?

I hear a clicking noise exactly like unlocking or locking power door locks on a car...no pain, slight nausea, very scary.... happens with every left to right and right to left movement of my eyeballs... Had a severe attack a vertigo last year and seems like a very mild vertigo attack but it has been 3 days and still no improvement...

I've been having those zapping sounds when I move my eyes far right or left. Far right makes me very dizzy and gives me vertigo. Also my tinnitus is worse than it's ever been. It's nice to know these are side effects of weaning off of 100 mg of zoloft and then only 10 mg of escitalopram. I thought I was nuts. I thought I was going to have to go to the doctor. It's nice to hear from you all that I'm not going nuts and this is real.

This is exactly what happened to me when I stopped Zoloft. Very hard to describe other than saying it is a soft whoosh or swish sound that occurs with eye movement

You shoud check on google Superior Canal Dehiscence.
Yes. People with Superior Canal Dehiscence can hear they eyeballs moving, and they have vertigo/dizzy.
I have severe tinnitus and sporadically hear what I can only describe as a radio being tuned really fast when I shift my eyes, or head.
Oh my word you just described what is happening to me!
Wow this happens to my when I shut my eyes any more than as tightly as to have the lids touch. Also lots when I’m just doing nothing. Kids gets heavy and close a bit, accompanied by the light saber sound.
Yes I feel all of these symptoms but cant get anyone to listen. Its so great to hear other people with same symptoms. I have a history of falling since I was little (jyst clumsy) however the dymptoms like light sabre noise is getting noise. If I close my eyes it goes awaý but returns when I open my eyes. Hanging washing on high line causes problems too. Have appt at hospital again on 16/9/ 2019 so having seen this and read about SCDS gives me hope.
I describe the sound as loose sand being swished on the floor of a cardboard box. In my case I suspect a link to dehydration. It goes away when I drink several glasses of water. Another thought is the medication Duloxetine. The noise began when I was on it. This could be just a coincidence, however.
I get this too. I also get a buzzing sensation through my body when I have it - when I move my head.
I suffer from sleep/wake syndrome (sleep paralysis) and I usually get this when I'm exhausted and going to have a sleep paralysis attack. However, in the past, I have also got it (as in the present) after a sciatica attack (hip/pelvis/lower back).
I looked through all of the posts on this thread. I am not sure everyone is experiencing the same symptom. I think it’s important for everyone to describe their symptom in detail and also cover what they have done to resolve or attempt to resolve the issue.
My symptom:
• Started about 9 months ago.
• I switched from Prozac to Zoloft around that time. But my swishing sounds have persisted for the entire 9 months.
• If I move my eyes quickly from left to right or vice versa I get a swishing sound. Like a ‘swish swish swish’. Kind of sounds like those sprinklers that rotate and change positions, swish swish swish.
• It’s not just a sound, but its also a sensation. Its very hard to describe but not too dissimilar to brain zaps. I cant tell if the sensation is in my head or ears or both.
• Sometimes I get the sensations when I am about to fall a sleep. Its like my eyes must start to quickly move as I doze off and I get that sound and sensation.
• I use to get a very similar feeling when I would have really bad colds with sinus congestion.
• I do have some vascular issues and take BP meds so it could be related to that. It does seems when I lay down for a while the swishing is less prominent.
Possible causes:
People in the posts have mentioned:
1. Serotonin drugs or a withdrawal of serotonin drugs causing these symptoms.
2. Vascular BP issues causing these issues.
3. Sinus and/or inner ear related issues.
4. Or could be a combination of multiple things.
My game plan is I am switching back from Zoloft to Prozac. I just started this yesterday. Swishing sensation is still present and may have even increased. I will do this for about 3 weeks and report back to this thread. If that does not resolve my issue I will then tinker with my BP meds (under doctor supervision) or I will see an ENT doctor. I will keep everyone posted! Let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas.
I would say the swishing sounds sort of like this sprinkler. Only when it goes left to right, not right to left.

Do you have any update on this, are you still experiencing this symptom?
