Audible noise when moving my eyes

This doesn't happen always, but between 5-10 times a week I will hear (or appear to hear) a noise which vaguely sounds like someone quickly ripping a piece of paper or cloth when I move my eyes from one point to another (left to right, up to down, etc). I guess I'm just trying to figure out is this really happening, or am I suffering from some type of auditory hallucination?
There doesn't seem to be any single set of circumstances it occurs in.
Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Yes! It sounds like a light saber going back and forth or like when your car window is down and you pass something....weird. Did you ever find out what it was? I work under LED lights.....was wondering if they are affecting me since it is worse at work??
Did you find out what it was?
Any better yet?
Similar sensation for me but add body tremors.
Exactly what my experience is when I have sinus infection and/or ear infection. Very annoying.
I'm glad to know I'm not crazy!!
Please consider wearing a helmet.
These symptoms started with menopause for me too. They stopped when I went on HRT.
I have two or three pulses of tinnitus when I move my eyes too. The Tinnitus is always there but louder when I move my eyes. I stopped taking Paxil last week after trying it for a month. I also remember having this Tinnitus issue years ago when I was feverish.
Hope this helps some of you. If i discussed all my medical problems with you, mostly i now know to be classed from mental health issues from stress and anxiety, youd think i was a hypochondriac. Ive actual found out myself through 6 years of googling, where all these very many symptoms i have, join up. And have found that i AN OVER ACTIVE SYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM. It affects my entire life now giving me far more bad days than good, so i hope you dont have it. But it causes me to have the whooshing noises in my head when i move my eyes, on my worst days. I get the nausea n dizziness with it always, but more often i get those two problems without that horrible sensation thankfully. I also know that you have a thing in your ear that prevents hearing yourself chewing etc, which can be another thing affected by the nervous system, but i dont get that. So if you have many wierd things happening that are often associated with fibro etc, but like me u know there was more it than that, read what you can about this subject.

I self diagnosed that weaning off Lexapro did the same thing to me.
Did you ever figure out what causes this? I am experiencing almost exactly what you described. I went to the doctor today and they couldn't do anything.
Thank you!
Your description was so right on point for the way I experience it too.
(I now have a better way to describe it to a doctor)
