Your injury is very similiar to mine, curious if you healed on your own or needed surgery to resolve.
I have been following this thread for a while. I fell down stairs and have the same lump and
dent that others are experiencing on here as well. is there anyone here that has success getting rid of the lump or dent?
I fell in Oct and it is stii here. I did have it aspirated and had an MRI .. mThe hematoma is gone but the lump is scar tissue. This was confirmed by a surgeon.
Please if anyone can give some wisdom on a way to treat this I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi!! Last December I fell off a horse and severely hurt my right buttock. It was black and blue and swollen and couldn't sleep comfortly for a while, after the pain faded, I was left with a lump And its is kind off optic able. I wenttothe he doctor and he said it would would fade, so be its been year a year and a slight change it has gotten smaller but still there.. He gave me a drew to rub on a found it no use, but massaging it seeping has made a huge difference. Keep it regular and hopefully you will see a result!
I had the same thing happen to me 17 days ago. Bumped down a flight of very slippery varnished wet steps on my left buttock narrowly missing my tailbone. Functioned semi normally (couldn't sleep on my left side) for two weeks, but the dent then huge inflammation above the dent made me worried and i found this forum. I sought help with a doctor (neurologist) who sent me for an ultrasound - said i had 84ml of fluid buildup and he'd send me for drainage. I was admitted to hospital on the thursday morning, had drainlage thurs pm, stayed in hospital with antibiotics thurs & fri night and was discharged today, saturday. Drainage was under local anaesthesia, but gave IMMEDIATE relief from pain. Did not require any further painkiller and am home with a week's supply of antibiotics. Feel so much better. Dent and bump gone. Good luck to all those who have suffered here. Feel so relieved!
I have the same thing! A severe fall on concrete about 5 months ago. I have a huge dent in my butt cheek. My husband (he's a doctor) says it'll go away eventually but meantime it's really bugging me as my butt was the one part of my body I actually liked. I feel disfigured! :(
All of the responses were comforting to me before I had surgery. Over a year ago I slipped on some slick stairs. my entire left butt cheek was black and blue. i was in pain but did continue to exercise whichever as probably a mistake. A hematoma formed and even though it was ugly about 3" x 3" and uncomfortable , I didn't go to the doctor for over a year. My primary physical sent me to a general surgeon. She ordered an MRI and confirmed the mass was above the muscle and subdermal. The surger was outpatient and I was under anesthesia- it lasted about an hour and she completely removed the hard mass. My incision is about 2 inches long and the area is healing great- still see a slight dent but that is because the skin is experiencing the loss of the large mass so it will take time for the area to reform back to normal. My cost was 0 through my health insurance. I reported this bump was uncomfortable and causing some pain which was true- so your medical insurance should cover it. If there is scarring later i can go the plastic surgeon route but I think this was the best path for me.
So, about four years ago, I had a nasty fall on stairs, bruising and all. eventually the bruise went away and I ignored it. On the other side, from another fall on the same slippery stairs, I have a dent. Since I already had some nasty scarring on the left from a bone graft taken when I was a teenager, the cosmetic issues aren't all that important to me--in fact, the dent might have balanced out my two sides a bit, since it was nearly parallel to the deep scar. However, a few months ago, I felt a hard lump in that spot (on the side with the scar, but no dent). Didn't really connect it with the fall, so I went to the doctor thinking I had a fatty tumor or something. Doctor thought so, too. Had it removed a couple of weeks ago, and it was fat necrosis, which is just a hard lump of dead fat--which sounds like the "laying on a hard ball or bump" kind of thing. I don't know, cosmetically, how this will turn out, but I am happy that the surgeon could at least reduce a bit of my old scar while she was there.
oh wow!!!! I fell 2/13/15 slipped on icy steps and hit left butt check.... I have a huge lump and imprint ....yes you can see through my clothes as well!!!! I have the same question????
I slipped and fell in Jan 2015 I sought immediate medical attention, I have a massive hematoma on my left cheek about the size if a softball, they tried to drain it in office but it was to deep in the muscle. I followed up with a general sergon and had surgery one week latter 14 staples drainage tube for a week , here it is Here it is May and I sill have a large lump in my rear quite embarrassing in most clothing I plan on seeing a plastic sergon in the next week or so , hopefully they can do something to make it go away. Anyone one here that has seen a plastic sergon? Did their treatment work or am I going to be like this forever
