Hi, I am wearing a holter monitor for 3 days, now, to diagnose my condition, since my heart speeds up enormously after eating. I definately suffer from tachycardia. My ranges after eat are 120-150 bpm. What could be the reason?

So are you saying that Thyriod Disease caused all of yours. I have had Tachycardia since a teenager, but It soon got worse and was diagnosed with SVT this passed year. Diagnosed with Hypothyriod two years ago. I wonder if that and my diet has alot to do with my fast heart rate. I am on Synthriod for the Thyriod and Atenenol for the Heart Rate, But even know I can still tell it wants to climb up after I eat, sometimes even when bending down. What are other things I can eat and do to make myself feel healthy again. Its a bad feeling, I have had several echocardiograms, stress test, and ekgs all just come back normal and only STV which is a different kind of Tachycardia ( Not deadly ) assume.
Also to mention I am only 23 years old. Tooooo younge for this. I notice lately as well that my bp when stressed from the tachy is usually around 140/90.. went to the doc last week it was 108/100 No one knew why..it just doesnt make sense and thats even still with me taking the beta blocker, but most of the time it runs low.
Hello there... I am a 28 year old female and have been struggling with this for about a year or two now.. Every time i eat in the middle or after my heart feels like its going to beat out of my chest its insane! It beats harder and faster and i feel like im going to pass out like i have been aggressivaly running and im just laying or sitting there... I have gone to the ER twice for this and also saw a cardiologist.. i have had multiple EKG's chest exrays, holter monitors, stress tests, echocardiogram, and blood work and everything came back fine i just dont understand.. its sooo frustrating i just dont think i can deal with this the rest of my life.. i dread eating i mean i am actually scared to eat its bad. i have already lost 30 ibs which i guess is good for me i am slightly over weight but thats besides the point.. i find that when i eat and i drink water at the same time it will lower my heart rate slightly but not a whole lot so idk its annoying and very scary i hate this i just wanna be normal again i would give anything.. has anybody else gone thru this????  thank you for reading.. god bless...
Look at my posts on the previous page. There is likely nothing wrong with you other than you have poisoned yourself with preservatives, artificial foods, and toxins which build up in your body and slowly poison you to death. I went through it for many years starting at about 26 years old until I got a handle on it around 35.
I have the same thing going on with me and have been for many years. My doctor always said it was anxiety but it was after I ate certain things. My heart rate is normally around 72 and bp is always low but when this happens it's in the 120 to 149 and my bp goes up also. I hate this and then I get this horrible knot in my stomach like a fist under my ribs. I went to another doctor and discussed this and he thought I had "Dumping Syndrome" and people that haven't had a Gastric bypass surgery can have this. Look it up and see if it's you. I have all the symptoms just not all at the same time. It depends on the food I eat and usually I will have an attack in the morning if it’s really sugary food or in the evening depending on what I have eaten all day. My doctor advised me to stay away from heavy foods and pasta especially and also acid food causes this too. Low blood sugar will cause this when you get a boost in sugar also, so you need to eat between meals. I have done so much better after understanding this. Alot has to do with the foods you are eating, I thought for many years that foods with MSG can cause this, and yes it can if you’re really sensitive and have alot of it. So I hope that helps we are not crazy we have very sensitive stomachs. Good Luck...
Hey, Have you tried cutting out sulfites. I mean ALLLLL sulfites. Even the ones that aren't listed on ingredients??? I can't have syrup because of sulfites. Corn Syrup, carmel color etc all contain them. You can find huge lists online about sulfite containing foods. And it is depressing. Onion, garlic, chocolate, cheese, eggs, pork, pretty much anything bleached, all processed corn, soy products, all the good things in life :o( I was on this diet and felt GREAT, but I lost 10 lbs in two months. So it is very difficult to do. Dr's seem to not understand sulfite issues at all. You can try taking vitamin b-12 too, that helped me a lot. I got pregnant and fell off the wagon since I needed to gain weight. Since adding cheese and processed food back my fatigue, tachy, and acne has returned. Living off of rice, chicken and squash is difficult. Oh also, the meat at the supermarket. It isn't sprayed with sulfites, but that little 'absorbent' pack under the meat contains sulfur dioxide to maintain freshenss. Filtered water. The filter is made of sulfited coconut stuff. We are surrounded by sulfites. Organic is your friend. But WASH everything really well!!!!
There is a possibility that it is an allergic reaction to gluten. Have you been tested for a gluten or msg or maybe even lactose. NAC and maybe papaya enzimes may be helpful in these instances
I'm 21 six ten and 370 pounds this has just been happening to me in the last month I'm not sure if it is caused by eating but it had happened twice My heart rate increases very fast I feel very hot and sick and sometimes my arm goes numb I've been to the doctors they said my heart sounded healthy blood work looks fine I'm not sure if I believe them.
Yes. I went through this and I'm your age. It's your food. There's all kinds of crap in processed food these days and they just keep upping the amount of MSG (a chemical that makes food addictive and taste better, but can also make your heart race like nuts). I eventually had POTS (really really fast heart rate) and was bedridden for a YEAR. Doctors kept telling me I was fine, all my blood work and tests came back fine. Then I started having seizures and they STILL could not figure out why. They just kept telling me I was the reason for my problems (stressing myself out, anxiety, depression). Way to make a girl feel insane. So I gave up on modern medicine after 4 years and went to see a holistic/naturopathic doctor. This is where it's at. He was able to figure out I had probably had food allergies and started testing me for it (elimination diet). Figured out I have Celiacs Disease too! Which is a severe allergy to gluten.... and guess what, all the processed food? Killing me. Research it.  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***Please read our Terms of Use
Hello Everyone, Hope all is well. I'm a kind of new in this forum. I was just reading thru all articles. I basically suffer from the same symptoms - heart races after eating food around 100-115, tired and fatigue. Though I've been suffering from fatigue since last year, doctors are yet to determine the root cause of the problem. Basically my heart races with any little activity or exertion. Tried with three different cardiologist. No luck, only I was told that I've "inappropriate sinus tachycardia." Now I'm on Cardizem CD 120 mg for my high blood pressure. It does not seem to be working that well.
Hi! I just read everyone stories. Mine is similar, I am now 39 but have had this problem since I was in my teens. Been through all the tests and such. For those wanting a diagnosis, talk to your Dr about a condition called reactive hypoglycemia! People who do not have diabetes can still have this condition. It had to do with blood sugar dropping very low right after eating! It causes heart racing, dizziness and so on. It's a very real condition and is usually treated by changing eating habits. Because of its nature, it causes anxiety. I take ativan for this when needed. For me what helps, is only eating a high protein meal first thing in the morning, usually chicken for me. It seems to set me good for the day, then with subsequent meals,I can eat what I want but if I eat any sugar or carbs in the first meal, my heart will race horribly! You have to learn your body and what works for you. Also, have your Dr do a tilt table test! My friend was diagnosed with a condition after she suffered for years without any one knowing what was wrong, finally a tilt table test was done and she was diagnosed POTS. POSTURAL ORTHOSTATIC TACHYCARDIA SYNDROME. Causes the change in blood pressure, heart racing, fainting...all this thing..please ask your Dr to do this test..it's painless! Hour I've helped someone. There is medicine for this condition too.
im having all this condition racing heart after eating, tachycardia doctors blame it on anxiety but i know its not ur comment i really appreciate would like to know more how to get this under control im only 27 with two small babies and this is ruining my life
YES IT IS A DRAG TO HAVE THIS. MINE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT SIX WEEKS NOW. I THINK IT IS MY HEART. I SUFFERED SEVERE STRESS 3M0S AGO WHEN MY BROTHER DIED. MY DOCTOR FEELS IT IS AN ACUTE ASTHMA STATIS AND INCREASED MY MEDS. HASN'T HELPED MUCH--I FEEL SICK AND WEAK ALL THE TIME. I DON'T GET MUCH DONE--TOO TIRED OUT.
Omgoodness! I going nuts! At least I thought I was untl I read these posts! I am 2 weeks into this. Cat scans kidney testing, bloodwork. I thought I was going through menopause?? I'm 50. She who never had to take medication is now on Bloodpressure, steroids, ativan and Zoloft! I need this madness to stop! I go for a holter monitior next! Hate medicine.
