Problems with recovery after face lift

I had a face lift 2 weeks ago and I'm very worried because I have a lot of
swelling araound the ears and jowl area and my face looks distorted.
So distorted that I'm ashamed to go into work because i'm scared people
will notice (I don't want anyone to know at work).
Also, I'm having problems eating things that are hard because of the pain when I use the relevant face muscles. Even when I'm not moving my face, I can feel it so tight, as if it has been pulled upwards too much.
Can anyone relate or has advice?

It's only been 2 weeks, you will feel all these symptoms for at least 6 weeks if not more.

Your face had a big makeover and it for sure will take time to get used to the change. Give it some time and be in touch with your surgeon. Let him/her know about what you go through and seek medical advice. Do not just rely on what you read on the internet. Reading cosmetic surgery information blogs can help to a great extent!

He does plain surgery. No draping. He pulls the mussel up under the skin. You will look natural.

Hi there I'm thinking of going to Poland for a facelift and eyelid surgery. Can you tell me how you went about booking this and roughly costs. I know its over a year ago but are you still pleased you went to Poland. I just can't get over the cost here in the UK. Thank you
Dr musgrove from Manchester did mine and very happy
It is common
Swelling around the skin after the facelift surgery is common. You don’t have to worry about that. It may take 3 to 6 months to head back to your normal appearance. But some spots around the internal stitches in cheeks can take a longer time to recover. It is essential for you to give a special care atleast a month for fast healing and recovery. A facelift surgeon just like Dr.Sammy Sliwin in Toronto will surely explain the different stages of recovery.I think light diet is best for 3 to 4 weeks.
I could not eat normally for 5 weeks after my mac s lift. I had no other problems however. A year later I had a small revision because the healed skin in front of my ear had a little pleat in it. Was fine after that.
My mac s lift was done in the USA. I think at first I was instructed to eat soft foods only at first. On my own, I gradually ate harder foods but I was surprised it was so long before I could eat normally. Not unhappy at all about it though.
I know a really great Doctor in Las Vegas. I have lived all over the Country and he is the best with Face lifts that I have ever had and I had to go through it 3 times but only HE could get it right. Not sure where you live, but he is worth the trip to Las Vegas. After all, it is your FACE, not something ou can hide like a messed up foot or something. He cost is fair. He is double board certified.
He will be 100% honest with you. I will nver go to another surgeon for anything but him.
Let me know if you are interested.

I did have a (Relatively Painless) face lift and a very good outcome. In fact I had the neck, lower and mid face done all at once. I had the mid face done TWICE before and it was a mess until this time with this Doctor. It was in office, with just numbing and medication to relax. I was AWAKE and talking with the Doctor and the nurse. I liked being awake because he could tell me to "Smile" etc and know if it was too tight, not tight enough or if the smile was not straight etc....
I have lived all over the US, seen MANY Doctors/Surgeons and I chose this gut because he did ALL the right things from the first time I met with him. I actually scheduled and paid for the procedure with another Doctor, but when I saw that they were more interested in collecting my money, than taking BEFORE photos, I got my money back and went to This Surgeon. I had spoken with 5 different ones, THIS one had NO reviews because he does not pay for reviews or good ratings. He is 100% honest. I do have to give credit to one other Doctor who did tell me "I do not feel that I can meet your expectations". I admire his honesty instead of lying, being money hungry etc...
I had my procedure about 5 weeks ago, I had very little swelling, I did feel tight and numb for 3 weeks, but I took NO pain medication at home except the first night. I used lots of ice cold wet cloths ALL night the first night. I used arnicia before and after for 2 weeks. He told me the things to do before and after as well as the things not to do. People tell me that I look 20 years younger. I could not be more pleased. The Doctor is DR HIMANSU SHAH at Signature Plastic Surgery in Henderson NV, very near Las Vegas. this Doctor is SIMPLY THE BEST. He specializes in Face Lifts, but does Breast Implants and MANY other procedures including BOTOX, FILLERS etc... His fees are good, he really cares about YOU unlike most Doctors in the Las Vegas Area that are only here because they cannot make it in Calli or they are just all about the money. His staff is outstanding as well. I will never go to any other Doctor for ANY procedure but DR SHAH. If you live 10000 miles away, your best bet still is to go to DR H SHAH. It is your face, it is FOREVER!!! He is Double Board certified too.:) He does not LIE and lead you on, or misrepresent himself. Some Doctors in Las Vegas will tell you they have an office in Beverly Hills or Cal someplace then you learn it is a cell phone. Yes I have seen and heard it all.
Hope this helps you to know that yes there is at least one happy ME and at least one GREAT Surgeon in NV. All The Best and message me if you have questions.
