Problems with recovery after face lift

I had a face lift 2 weeks ago and I'm very worried because I have a lot of
swelling araound the ears and jowl area and my face looks distorted.
So distorted that I'm ashamed to go into work because i'm scared people
will notice (I don't want anyone to know at work).
Also, I'm having problems eating things that are hard because of the pain when I use the relevant face muscles. Even when I'm not moving my face, I can feel it so tight, as if it has been pulled upwards too much.
Can anyone relate or has advice?

I had a facelift and necklift 10/2017. 1 years 3months later, I still have problems swallowing. Has anyone experienced this? Of course my doctor says his procedure should not have caused this issue. I've seen several ENT doctors and am scheduled to see a Throat Specialist in 2 weeks. I have to keep swallowing and it feels like somethings "catch" in my throat -- horrible to experience. I would NEVER recommend anyone go through this misery. Also, I've had severe hair loss on sides of face (which still do not have all the feeling back in them) and across bangs and even in back of my head. Even my beautician is alarmed at this hair loss. I just started taking the Hormone pill inserted into me and the blood test found my Thyroid was non-existent. Cause is shock or surgery! That also leads to hair loss. In summary, I'm disgusted I ever went down this path and frightened with my swallowing issues and hairloss.
Please think twice. If anyone has any ideas on the swallowing issues, please let me know....

I had a lower facelift 12 days ago. I had quite a bit of bruising on my neck, a slight black eye on the left and normal swelling. I can say that for me it wasn't as bad as I expected. I still have some numbness...to be expected not even 2 weeks out. I haven't had much pain at all and I look at least 15 years younger. The difference has been amazingly shocking. Primarily what I am dealing with is for the sutures removal sites to smooth out. I can't even see the scars in front of my ears. I had a great doctor who knows what he is doing. I feel I got lucky. So sorry so many of you are dealing with these issues. I came on to this thread to find out about earlobe pain and now I feel I should be thankful if that is all I am dealing with besides some swelling.
it's happened to most of the people that they are suffering from swelling in the their and face but don't need to be worry too much just consult a physician about it he will advice you the best medicine...

Thank you for this info. it has helped relieve my anxiety a bit because I can identify with everything you have said. I am at 3 weeks and 2 days into recovery from face/neck lift and upper and lower eyelid surgery. I feel the surgeon I went to should have put drains in because my neck is very tender, swollen, hard and lumpy. He is a facial specialist but only has 8 years of experience. I feel a bit depressed that I may have made a mistake in trusting someone with limited experience but hoping for the best.
Hang in there---4 weeks and things do start to change. I had some complication in that filler damaged the left left side of my face and it took them 4 hrs to cut through the damage and adhesions. I will never do it again--but the damage had to be sorted. Yes--one has swelling, bruising and tightness--but it does go. be patient and gentle with yourself. Take pain killers and antinflamatories as needed (ask Dr). However if you feel something is wrong--get a second opinion. I'd say though--perhaps don't do a face lift if you are thinking of it--use creams and love yourself for yourself with all you beauty and lines. I now embrace my face--even though it is a bit aymetrical due to the damaged tissue being removed during the mini face lift. Recover is longer and feelings are longer than a quick google search.
Did anyone have a facelift or neck lift by Dr. Jonathan Hoenig in Beverly Hills or Encino?
If you had a great result from a facelift, who was your surgeon?
