Strange throbbing/ pulsing in my thigh just above knee

I have an unusual heavy pulse in my left inner thigh just above my knee for the last couple of days. It isn't painful, but it is a little alarming. It goes in and out irregularly. It's like a quick little quiver, in rythym with my pulse. What is this, and should I do something!?!

My guess is this is FEELING your own pulse. I'm 63, Male, retired, 255lb. 6'3" sleep on my side and have felt some numous in feet latey also. I take calcium/poss/mag/zinc but do sit a lot.
However my pulsing started after a long day of exercise and standing. it is annoying, but probably harmless as others have stated. however our bodies do have ways of alerting us of trouble and this is no doubt something to pay attention to because of that. CAUSE? Loss of enough circulation is my thinking.
Therefore stay hydrated, eat proper, take vitamins/minerals, exercise and I'm thinking this is probably a problem of those OVER WEIGHT as well. Hence I need to loose some, I've been going on a diet for the last 10 years:-))))
Just made nine different kinds of pie for the HOLIDAYS... Yum, no matter how healthly you are, sooner or later you are still going to die. So read your bible...
God bless each of you.

take off your pants and underwear and lay down, it will stop. the constant pressure all day on the waist in one spot jiggers up your nerves and blood vessels

Hello I'm 39 and have had this twice now.. And each time I've has it is when I've been on nights where we had finished our work early and sat for the rest of the shift. I angled the chair back so the weight of my legs were pressing down under my knees...I actually physically felt the throbbing beginning to start....so I'm thinking it's some sort of clotting of the arteries.if you've cut off the supply for hours there's a good possibility that the artery has narrowed due to a lower blood pressure going through it....I think a regular exercise should hopefully open the artery up again...get the blood pumping faster...just hope it removes small bits of the clot and not a big bit....
This is not a symptom of a DVT. At all. If something's pulsating that strongly it would be a arter, not a vein! A DVT is a blood clot. It would not make your veins pulsate if anything it would have the opposite affect with decrease in blood flow and swelling. Maybe you shouldn't write the first thing you hear about and scare people.
That is probably the Edema....when you have fluid around your joints a vibrating, or creaky or squeaky door noise happens from even the slightest muscle contraction...even breathing can cause it to have that noise.
