Went looking for some answers as I am having the same problem. Glad to know I'm not alone but very disappointed as I read all the comments about everyone just telling their story and no solution. If I'm going to stay like this for the rest of my life I'm going to be a very sad and miserable person. Main reason I did tummy tuck was because I was having body image issues.

Thought I was getting some answers. But I don't believe this is what we have.

I have exactly the same symptoms. Round ball below my belly button. Swelling. My stomach is painful to touch at the end of the day. Much better in the morning and then gets worse as the day goes on.

Hi did you ever get an answer for this, I am surprised that even being pregnant you were not able to get relief because things should have stretched out. I am going in to get mine undone and the scar tissue released from my muscles in the next month because I am having the same issues and don't want them anymore'

I am having the same issues with stomach swelling one year post op. I am so frustrated and feel so stupid for doing this. Has anyone had any answers as to what might be causing this?

I too had a full tummy tuck with lipo of the flanks over two years ago. My continuing persistent problems are lower leg swelling, upper adbomen swelling, hardness, pain in the belly button area, pain after eating to much, and inability to stretch my abdomen out. I've been through multiple tests, and passed them all with no answers. I gave up on the plastic surgeon early on, when he didn't seem to have any answers. He told me to give it time to heal!! I wish I would have never done this. I look pregnant and have all these issues now. I look and feel much worse now than I did pre- tummy tuck.

I am 7 months post op "Mommy Makover", lipo and tummy tuck. I am Stunned and In Shock to read all the post. i have pain and swelling in my upper stomach. I have been getting massages and wearing my faja as much as i can. When I wear my faja to bed I wake up to a flat tummy, usually by the end of the day i have a boldge/lump in my upper stomach. I have been told by my doctor to allow more time to pass to heal. But, how sad to read how many women are going through the same thing years later. With all these post and imagine all the other women who have not posted, the surgeons seem to have "no idea" how this could be a side effect. How embarrassing!! My mother was so against me having this done. Many others judge me. I will be so sad if i can't return to teaching dance and working out like the strong women i once was. I am limited now on my movement. As many of us are. Sad to know this is our reality.

I am currently 7 months post op too.. same swelling issues. I believe tea helps in general. I am always drinking a cup of green and ginger tea. I will try peppermint oil for my next massage. Haven't thought about that. Also making a pineapple tea helps with inflammation. I also have enzymes that I take daily called Serrapeptase. It help with scar tissue and inflammation. I just started taking it so i can't give much feedback, and I feel with the amount of scar tissue it will be over a long period of time to truly feel a difference. Also I do castor oil packs on my tummy. Even more so when I have cramps which have gotten worse since my operation. I also started looking in Wood therapy which is a form of massage. It is vigorous and from the research I have done helps breakup tissue. I rather look into holistic remedies then have more work done to try and correct my mistakes. i wish the best for you!

3 years post op and same symptoms as many describe. IBS, distension, lactose intolerance, maybe gluten too. Horrible digestive issues led to major health decline. Rebooting with a clean diet. Considering a liver detox but may be too fragile for that right now. Miserable in cloths. Wearing big dresses again to hide the pregnant look. Even though I am down to 136 and size 6 its not worth it. Any one considering a Tummy Tuck should realize that the surgeon basically will fillet your stomach to pull it down. Thats why our lymph systems have so much problem reconnecting, I believe. Then we develop all this other stuff and its hard to get the exercise like you did before because you just don't feel like it!

I really did not need a tt, I was going in to have very old implants out, I am 58, and had a nice tummy, no stretch marks , a little excess skin after having 3 children, i weighed 125 5'6", he talked me into it, I was already feeling bad about my disfigured implants, we kept it a secret from my husband until the day before I was going to do this, I hate this surgeon, can I sue him, and make him fix it..

I am five years post tummy tuck with upper stitching to tighten my stomach muscles. I can't eat anything salty or marinade sauces or soups. If I do I feel sick and my stomach bloats the size of a watermelon until the next day. Simply avoid sodium. I have a tummy tuck channel under Jeannie Jones
