Anyone, get this same thing happen to them after consuming evn small amounts of vinegar..? So I am an avid eater of vinergar and cucumbers or vinegar and lettuce, shortly afterward I get a stuffy nose and congested head. I associated this together a few months ago but was in denial of me having an allergy to vinegar, I noticed it happened every time after eating italian dressing. I soon narrowed it down to the vinegar. Wow what a deal. I have gone 30+ years without knowing I have this small allergy to vinegar, anyone else have the same thing, and what are your symptoms..?

I sweat on head. My hair will become completely wet, like after a shower. My face will turn a little red, no other symptoms. It started maybe 10 years ago, about the same time I became much less allergic to ragweed.
If you want to know if something has vinegar in it, you cannot fool me. Every time I start sweating I look at the ingredients -- and sure enough vinegar is close to the top.

Chances are you are type O blood... I have all of those aliments too... All of those things you mentioned are an acidic acid food.... where lemon and pineapple are an alkaline acid based food.. Both respond much different to the body. Look into your blood... might help for what benefits your body's digestion and what hinders. Good luck! xo
I been suffering from the same. Specially when I have a throat infection is get worse. I’m seeing doctors in PR NH FL and no one have an explanation to this. I feel my head like is in fire and the rest of my body is so cold. This start when I was 12 years old and I now 42. If you find out something or someone who can help with this please let me know and thanks
Paul, I have a very similar reaction to yours, I think. I cough at the smell and choke on the first few bites or sips of whatever I try that has vinegar in it — a soup or a pickle — except the milder souces and meals, which I actually crave for, and when I eat much slower than usual. I had a similar reaction to wine couple times. It only got more serious once when I tried a certain Japanese soup and I was choked to tears after every spoon of it... It’s good to know there are others with a similar oddity out there.
Yes!! I just drank 5ml of coconut vinegar in a big glass of water, because I had already found out the hard way that apple cider vinegar gives me INSTANT hives all over. The keto eating plan I'm on recommends ACV in water to detox the liver and lemon juice in water to help prevent kidney stones. I thought the hives might have been an allergy to apple vinegar, but nope. Instant hives again. Lemon juice in water does this to me too. Maybe our bodies just don't need any extra acid!!
Everyone needs to pay attention to sulfites as wine, ketchup, salt and vinegar taytos, pork, my husband a Chef said not only do I look like a lobster when I eat or drink anything with sulfites but it also triggered migraines. Something I didn't know was hormones and stress you can get allergic reactions to stuff you never have before so ended up on allergy meds to balance my body then was able to come off them again. :-)
I sweat after eating anything with vinegar also.
Maybe its an allergy. Vinegar is fermented so it will kick up and agrevate any yeast in the body. Also, as a type O blood type, if you adhere to any of Peter D'Adamo theory, type O are notsupposed to eat vinegar.
because i have kidney stones I red ACV is good to help them go away. so i drank 2 Tbs and liked it, immediately my head and face felt like they were burning, it's terrible, i used a cold pack( frozen) no relief, will call my doctor and never use this again
I started having reactions after salads and I think it’s the vinegrette dressings. I would feel very hot and itchy, have an upset stomach, racing heart and like I’m going to pass out. Had so many medical tests and docs just look at me funny when I questioned them about the fact that I had eaten salad most of the times this happened....
Only recently considered and released the idea of being allergic to vinegar. I am already a gluten intolerant vegan also with a high intolerance to alcohol. The latter probably being self inflicted but began to stop drinking three and half years ago and have now completed 13 months straight without a boozy tipple but, this has highlighted other allergies i wasn't aware of. I'm not sure if it's vinegar derided from alcohol such as cider or wine vinegar, have to avoid malt vinegar anyway, or the acid which most are allergic to. The symptoms I get are the same as when i would have an alcoholic drink. I dont get hungover I just go from fine to poisoned.Sometimes my rationality gets distorted which plays into my depression and takes me while to realise what is happening. I accidentally ate a vegan gf cheesecake last year that turned out to have 0.75mg of alcohol and both the physical and metal reactions where something else. I've tried to be very very careful with the food I buy. The last five days or so I've been feeling symptoms but couldn't make sense of why when my other half noticed that Tamari has spirit vinegar in it. We had made a stir fry with it at the end of last week . Also, like an idiot, I've been putting ketchup on my breakfast every morning. Feel like I'm running out of things to eat but thankfully being vegan there is usually an alternative. I'm ok with lemons so maybe I'll explore that as an altertive
I just ate red wine vinegar in my salad dressing. I put a lot on it and noticed it was extra tangy. After finishing, I noticed part of my upper lip felt funny and puffy. I took some liquid Benadryl and brushed my teeth. I usually don't have a problem with it but I overloaded my mouth.
I'm type O. I think that's why when I ate too much my body freaked out...my upper lip started to swell and my mouth is still burning. I took liquid Benadryl and brushed my teeth.
Me too!! Just the mention now, lol!
I have same issue
