I agree. I was wondering why i have been on a diet for 3 months and lost 2 lbs. I went on this diet before the ablation and lost 20 lbs in 1 month. Now it has all come back. OMG.
So frustrating that we were all either not told this, or our doctor's won't LISTEN to us and just tell us we need more diet and exercise. Even when I told my doctor my very healthy diet and exercise plan, he recommended the same things again. All doctor's say it's unrelated, but someone needs to study this and figure out why it's happening to so many. Before the ablation, I had lost 25lbs and kept it off for 2 full years easy and as soon as I had the surgery with no dietary or exercise changes, I slowly put the 25lbs back on. I've tried intermittent fasting, even the OMAD/Warrior Diet and even that doesn't help at all. Basically I can eat a very low calorie diet, exercise and still nothing budges.
I had the ablation this year 2022 and I remember asking my doctor about weight gain she said no and I'm sitting here with weight gain in the stomach that is very uncomfortable I hate the fact that an OB-GYN was not honest with me about what the outcome would be so now I have this issue that is irreversible basically and I pray that I don't get worse in other health areas because I have asthma and I don't do well with asthma with extra weight gain so they are not honest it's all about money and they know your health issues because you tell them before any procedure and they still want be honest.
I believe it does too! My hormones are now, one year after ablation, indicating I am in menopause. I’ve gained 30 pounds since my ablation and cramp periodically. I am always bloated. I have fibroids now. And my hair is thin. Face is puffy. I am always tired. I would rather have the heavy bleeding any day over this. I am so mad I had the procedure. Had I known I would have just went for the hysterectomy. Worst decision I ever made was the ablation.
After the hysterectomy did they test or find reason for the fluid?
I had my ablation in May of 2009 and gained 50 lbs over time.
I was 43 at time of procedure and I weighed 98lbs.
I was never able to gain weight no matter what I ate. Now I am 57 and I weigh 150. It's so frustrating.

I had an ablation 2 months ago. I gained 7 pounds in the first two weeks and haven’t been able to lose it. I, too, am bloated all the time. my abdomen is actually larger. My menopause symptoms are far worse, and I am constantly lightly cramping. I’m told nothing wrong.
