It's may 2016 and I had the ablation about 2yrs ago. Same gained 15 pounds all in my stomach. I've also had problems with uti, lower back pain. I've been excercising eatting less all to know effect. I think I'm going to see a lawyer. There is a serious problem here and we all need to join together to get our bodies and health back.
Hi. I had the procedure in January 2015 and like you have all said I have steadily out on weight and now look pregnant. It's getting worse and worse. I wish I had never had it done :(
Amy, I also had a uterine ablation 7 years ago. I began to gain weight, but slowly for the first couple of years, and my periods never stopped, the were just not as heavy. From year 3 on, I have gained another 35 pounds (45 in all) and in the past year have experienced many of the symptoms you are describing. I have not had the facial hair issue, however, my anxiety is through the roof! And mood swings....I am either crying or ready to punch someone in the face, and that is NOT me. I have since had nausea, abdominal, and back pains that my regular doctor wanted to contribute to gallbladder but he forgot, that was removed 4 years ago! I went back for my yearly check-up with my gyn. and upon examination she ordered an ultrasound. I have since been diagnosed with adenomyosis (a condition of the uterus) and PCOS, both of which are caused by increases in hormone levels, which ALSO causes increase in weight gain! I wish I had known that this procedure was going to cause so many side effects. If I had known, I would have opted for a different treatment. Now I am waiting to have a total hysterectomy.
I had this procedure done almost a year ago. Within 2 months I put on 12 pounds. I struggle to get a pound or two off. It's beyond frustrating to eat right and to exercise and to see the scale go up and up. I am a personal trainer and this makes me so angry cause I have been beating myself up thinking it's me when it's obvious its this procedure!!
I had my ablation done in January of 2016 & have gained 10 pounds to date. Prior to this I had weighed the same weight for 5 years. I have the exact same routines, no changes in eating habits prior to surgery & here I am! Again, no one ever mentioned that there'd be massive weight gain as a side effect. I'm overly concerned because I'm only 6 months in and being 41 years old I probably have some ways to go before menopause. So how much more weight will I gain?! Has anyone contacted a lawyer for advice?? This is insane! I did my research prior to surgery, & I'm positive that would they have disclosed the "truth", I would've kept my heavy periods, I have all sorts of auto immune diseases that only become more painful with weight gain. I'm so utterly disappointed! The things these wolves will do for money!!
Amy, I live in London, England and agree that we should sue the manufacturers of Novasure for not listing this as a side effect. I am serious in this - we need to show them that they have ruined our figures and our mental happiness by not being upfront.

I think you need to walk in one of our shoes before you make these statements. This would not be the first time the medical field was "hiding" information.
this information was very helpful thank You:)
Yes I have gained 9 pounds since I had it done in 2014. I have also has lumps in my breast and one drained. I have also experienced no period for three months when these symptoms hit and swelling in the front and upper legs during this time.
I had ablation done 4 weeks ago and I have never suffered with my weight.
I had just got married 3 weeks before my op and felt good about myself now I have put on around 7 pounds since my op and I am bloated around my stomach. I look like I'm at the beginning of pregnancy. I also was never told I would put weight on. I will show my doc all these comments. I don't really want a hysterectomy. Although I have had no bleeding since op but I wish I had waited to go through menopause if I'd know you put on Weight after an ablation. I am 47.

I've gained 30 pounds after this procedure. And it seems impossible to lose the extra weight. Will a hysterectomy help me to lose this weight ?
what has been your results post partial hysterectomy
I'm curious (and worried) about this weight gain. From what I've read endometrial ablation doesn't mess with your hormones, it's just a physical procedure . I could see the immediate gain from bloating as a side effect but weight gain over years, could that not be just from aging and normal hormonal changes? I'm 38 and have trouble dropping 15 lbs from my two kids (5 and 3 yrs old now), but thought it might be due to my age as losing weight in my early 30's was way easier lol.
I just had this procedure done, I hope to not gain weight from this
