Only alcohol / fragrance would burn. If it's just dry broken skin, moisturize & use numbing creams (Emla, Lanacane etc) to stop the itch / scratching, then it'll finally heal up.
I know this is an old post, but did you ever get any relief? Your post is identical to what I'm experiencing. I'd appreciate any advice.
If it's not Infection, try Lanacane cream to numb/heal it. Worked for me... ( My issue initially started bcuz I kept a scratching the period pad itch).
Same here.... I want to believe it's either eczema or the birth control ...tbh ....and I feel a little relieved that I'm not the only one after reading all these posts. Doctors/gyno all said it's nothing and it's just chaffings from pads/ tight clothes. So idk...I'm using a hydrocortisone cream to reduce the itching when it occurs and slp without underwear as much as possible.
this happened to me before I was on oral bc but seemed to be occurring less after I was. I have also been tested negative. I am 19 and had started experiencing this shortly after I believe my boyfriend had ripped my vagina but gynecologist said it was just a scab and not to be worried, although I still experience it 1 or 2 times a month and it's been 4 months
I have had this as well for many years thought I was the only one lol
I have been not been sexually active for 2 years and it still ha not gone away
so I don't think it's your husbands beard that does that to you
It gets very depressing at times
Hope you find the answer

I have this problem to I went to the director and it turns out it's a yeast infection but also to be on the safe side you should all get Estes for herpies as well, you can't be sure if it's an std if you don't actually get checked because when I first got this that's what it was but my doctor didn't tell me because it's the kind that is generally a cold sore but can very much show up in the genital area it can happen through oral sex missing sharing drinks with anyone who has even a little cold sore even. It's very easily spread and if someone had a cold sore on their lip and touched it then touched you you have the virus on your surface.
Hi, I had the same problem. I'm 28. I had discoloration (a white spot) on my left labia majora. Its also so itchy and once scratch I'll get it peeled off and flaky. The worst was its becoming bigger and its already alarming so I went to the OB gyne and have it checked. I had a papsmear and the result was I had a mild inflammation or bacteria in my vagina so they give me 7 tablets of vagina suppository for 7 days and travacort cream for the white spot. I was also so worried because everytime I google, lichen and yeast infection are the closest to what I am experiencing. To avoid being paranoid let yourself be checked too. :)
I have a tear on my left labia majora. The skin is a bit swollen and there is a cut. The swollen skin looks kind of like the skin on the scrotum...kind of wrinkled. It is itchy as heck. It's been there for maybe three weeks. I am married and havent been with anyone else in over three years. Help?
Right thats how i feel. My dr. Said the samething and its never likenthst wjn i go. I try to keep pictures but its disturbing to see. I know for a fact Dr needs to look into this it aggravates me for a fact.
If this helps anyone, I suffered this for years and it was finally diagnosed as psoriasis by a dermatologist, after being treated for every other thing under the sun. You have to work out your trigger and manage it; mine is stress, for some it it's in their diet. Getting sun on the area helps too.
If this helps anyone, I have been reading the posts and I was the same. Eventually the Dr gave the diagnosis of Lichen Sclerosus. Its NOT fun to have at all. It started out as a tiny little white spot that itched .. and over the course of a few years became a couple of patches. When my mother passed, with all the stress that comes with it, I had a major flare up that now covers the entire area. Some days its just the white crinkled skin, some days I have small tears. The itch can be unbearable but nothing compares to THAT time of the month. Skin peels and its hard to even sit sometimes. I make sure to use a barrier cream like Sudocrem ( its the zinc ) or Vaseline to help stop the burn when having to use the bathroom and I swap between Coconut Oil, Pure Emu Oil and Sorbolene Cream to help keep the area moisturized to help prevent further splitting and peeling. Every 2 days I use the steroid cream the DR prescribed. Over all its better apart from the menstrual time of the month.
I had this. Started out very itchy, then got visibly scaly, dry and flaky. It was only in one area of my labia majora and there was a cut that hurt like crazy too. Tried lamisil, monistat to no avail. Then tried viaderm kc (contains 2 abx, hydrcortisone and an antifungal in one) cream for two weeks and everything cleared up. I'd give this a try if you haven't already!
I think many people get the itchy skin symptoms without vaginal discharge or a yeast infection as part of it.
What!? You can't be that irresponsible! You must have herpes and you will pass it on your sexual future partner. Men tend to have mild symptoms but it most likely is herpes. Ask your doctor and be serious about it! Having an open sore often is not normal at all. Get tested for herpes
