test test working
I have the same thing, i am going to check in to the steroid cream thing and see if that works
Some fifteen years back small flat white spots appeared on my feet, and I lived with them for fifteen years, up until recent times. Efforts at scrapping them off didn't solve the problem. Soaking my feet in hot (treated) water didn't cure the problem. Vigorous scrubbing and trying different medications proved unsuccessful. The spots remained. I also spent a tidy sum of money on tea-tree oil and faithfully, several times daily, rubbed down my feet with the oil. No success! I was resigning myself to the possibily of living with the unsightly little spots on my feet for life. But I remembered being told (by an elderly woman) some 30 years earlier, that I could remove an odd small light/white twiggy mole-like growth from one my children's eye lid by simply applying a small dab of castor oil to the growth; morning, noon and evening. I did so. Surprise, the treatment worked, and worked within days. So, with that thought coming to mind, I begin rubbing my feet and ankles (quite liberally) with castor oil in the morning before putting on socks and shoes and heading off to work. Sometimes I would rub my feet down in the evening. To my pleasant, happy surprise, the white spots soon turned to darker colored spots and then begin dwindling in size --finally disappearing. My guess is that what I was doing was "smothering" whatever it was that was feeding on my feet. Anyway, what worked for me may not work for others, but I'll this infomration along as a whatever it's worth. I have no medical expertise in any of this, but hope someone else will benefit from my own experience and home-spun remedy.
These are Plain Warts(Verruca plana), caused by a type of human papilloma virus.. Frequently these are very resistant to treatment and return, especially after cryofreezing as some virus may escape unfrozen, or some, already seeded, may come out later. In some persons, they go away by themselves after a few years.
You can try electrocautery, which is more effective in such cases. Get rid of them immediately as they appear, or you may get recurrences as new lesions will have started developing beneath if you keep them for long. Never scrub your skin, as this will help in spreading the virus.
At home you can also try wart removal solutions like salicylic acid solutions(e.g.Duofilm), these should be applied very carefully to the lesions only, protecting the surrounding area with vaseline. Apply for 3-4 days, then scrape off the dried surface with blade( be careful not to cut the skin!). Repeated 3-4 times this should get rid off most lesions. Treat bumps as they appear.
This worked for me. Within a week my feet and ankles were clear.
What you folks are describing it Stucco Keratosis. It is most common after age 40. It appears as dry whitish wart like bumps around the ankle and the top of the foot. They may or may not itch. They can sometimes be scratched off, but will reappear within a few days. Short of a dermatologist treating them, there are no known over the counter remedies that will eradicate them. They are irritating, but in the long run, they both no real health risk. They may also show up on other parts of the body as well, the hands, arms, etc.
I have the same. Doctor has no clue. I heard a trip to Cozumel for a week or 2 would work. Worth a try.
i went and saw my gp and then a dermatologist because i've had the same thing for a few years and it's been gradually spreading. it started on my feet, then my hands and now arms and legs. he cut one out and did a biopsy, he said they are age spots but i google imaged that and it looks nothing like that, it looks more like Stucco Keratosis that someone here suggested.
anyway, i'm going to try the oil CV recommended, i'll let you know how it goes!
