Slather onto your feet and cover with socks
Dry, chapped skin on your feet? Soothe them overnight with this simple beauty trick - simply slather the Vaseline onto your feet, cover with socks, go to sleep and by the next morning, you'll have wonderfully soft, supple feet. This trick also works for hands, too, which is really useful - especially in cool, winter weather. If you like, you could mix the Vaseline with a drop or two of essential oils - peppermint in particular is really lovely for your feet as it helps to soothe and reduce redness. Lavender is perfect for your hands, but you can use any essential oil that you like.

Put a thin layer on eyelashes for long, lush lashes
One of the most popular uses for Vaseline - and a tip that many people swear by - is to put a very thin coat onto eyelashes before bed. The idea is that it helps lashes grow thicker, stronger and longer and in some cases, that it helps to prevent your eyelashes from falling out. If you do plan to use Vaseline, make sure that you use only a little bit - too much and it'll stick your eyes together and could end up irritating them. You can always add more Vaseline, but you can't really take it off.

Apply on wrists and neck before perfume for extra staying power
If you're sick of your super-expensive perfume fading after just an hour or two, apply a very thin layer of Vaseline to the wrists, neck and anywhere else that you spritz perfume before you apply it. It'll essentially help to trap the perfume on the skin and should make it last much longer in much the same way that solid perfumes last longer than traditional spray-ons. Or, make your own solid perfume by mixing a little bit of perfume with Vaseline and rubbing into skin until absorbed - you can then decant into a little pot and keep in your handbag.

Mix with sea salt to make a scrub
If you want to make a rich, nourishing scrub that isn't too harsh on your skin, consider mixing together a little bit of sea salt and a little bit of Vaseline. The Vaseline will act as the carrier for the salt, which means that it won't be too rough. Simply mix a teaspoon of sea salt with a tablespoon of Vaseline, rub gently into the skin, then rinse away. Finish with a moisturizer. Use once or twice a week on your face and body, paying particular attention to your knees and elbows, for supple, soft skin.

Apply to cuticles for beautiful looking nails
If your cuticles are looking a little bit dry or a little bit iffy, a great way to heal them, leaving your nails in tip-top condition, is to apply a thin layer of Vaseline to them each day. Keep a little pot in your handbag and rub the Vaseline into fingertips once or day - soon, you'll have stunning-looking nails without having to visit the salon. Some users also swear by using Vaseline to make their nails shinier, stronger and healthier, so you could also apply it if you want to make your manicure last a little bit longer.

Mix with eyeshadow to make a cream shadow
For a sheer, slightly shiny look, mix a little bit of powder eyeshadow with a touch of Vaseline on the back of your hand and apply it as you would a cream or mousse eyeshadow. It makes applying eyeshadow a cinch, plus, it lasts for quite a while too. You can also mix power shadows together with the Vaseline if you want to make your very own color - and you can even mix a little red or pink eyeshadow with Vaseline for use as a lipgloss. Easy peasy! And if you want to make lipstick go further, mix it with Vaseline - it'll go on sheer, a little like a lipstain.

Mix with lipstick or stain to make a cream blush
For a creamy, smooth blush that's just perfect for giving your skin a flush of color, mix a little bit of lipstick or even a few drops of lipstain together with a little bit of Vaseline. Lightly swirl it onto the apples of your cheeks, making sure that you rub it in (you don't want skin to look too shiny) so that the color sinks in. Keep in mind that darker hues will look paler when you mix them with the Vaseline, so you can put more color in than you'd think. You can also easily layer the cream blush for more depth of color.

Apply to hair to fix split ends
If your hair is looking a little bit frizzy, a little bit dry and a little bit past its best, a really quick and simple fix is to apply a little bit of Vaseline to the very ends of hair. It'll help to smooth frizz down, but it'll also help to reduce the appearance of split ends until you get your next trim. Just use the teeniest little bit between the tips of your fingers and very gently smooth it onto hair - don't rub it as it'll just cause more problems.

Use as a hair styling product
As mentioned in the previous slide, you can easily use Vaseline as a hair styling product if you have nothing else to hand. For this season's popular slicked back look, simply smooth a little Vaseline onto hair and comb back off your face. You can also use it as a texturizing product to add separation and lift to your locks - and if you like, you can even thin it down with a little water and use it a a makeshift conditioner if you ever run out. You can also rub a little onto your hands, then scrunch into hair for beachy waves.

Use around the hairline when dying hair to prevent staining
The easiest way to protect your face and skin from getting stained with hair dye when you're dying your hair at home is to apply a layer of Vaseline all around the hairline and around your ears. It acts as a barrier between your skin and the hair dye and all you have to do when the dye has taken is wipe it off. It can make hair a little greasy, so take care to put it around the hairline rather than on the hairline, otherwise you'll end up in a bit of a greasy mess!
