Red, itchy blotches on body after showering

As soon as I step out of the shower, all these little red bumps and blotches appear on by upper body, especially my upper chest. These bumps are really itchy and cover my arms, chest, and back. I have no idea what is causing this. I have tried switching different shampoos and body washes, thinking I can rule different things out. I have tried no scent shampoos and sensitive skin body wash. What is wrong with me??!!??!!

Yes! I'm 13 (female) and I have this for me too! It's so annoyingly itchy and when I've had friends over they make remarks about it which is irritating in itself, let alone the blotches!! This rash is sort of like heat lumps for me.. it only started earlier this year. Started with lots of red blotches (which I'm persuaded are just heat lumps but much itchier) on my chest and back! Only recently has it died down and only comes up on my back. I've had a root canal filling a few years ago after the regular filling fell out (this was all in one milk tooth) but then it went all rotten and I personally asked my dentist to remove it. Maybe some of it leaked before it was removed. But then why would it be only this year that I get the blotches...?
I'm seeing this pop up all over the internet now. I keep hearing the same answers, that the problem lies with the body. No one seems to question the water supply. I think the body is just fine, it's what's in the water. All our water is recycled, bleached, chlorinated, "treated". There are so many chemicals that we use with water, think about all the businesses and all the functions we use with water. There is no possible way of eliminating every chemical compound, every poison. Think how many humans are on this planet utilizing water for everyday uses with cleaning to cooking to you name it. Our water supply is dirty, poisoned and toxic. Still don't believe me? Take a glass of water from the tap and have it analyzed by a professional, you'll never want that on or in your body again

I firmly believe that your condition is due to stress and anxiety. Recently, I went through some hard situations (extreme anxiety and stress). I started to observe these red dots appear on my body after taking shower specially on my legs. I think that managing ur stress and anxiety will get rid of this problem. I hope this post will find you and help you :)

You have water urticaria,or water hives.they come when you wash.antihistamines don't help.
I had the same thing. Dermatologist said it is Grovers Disease..... Got prescription of lotion and almost gone in a week. Attaches men over 50. No known cause.
I have a similar reaction but there not bumps just blotches. I also have other medical conditions with no diagnosis. My hands n feet are always ice cold n red as well. And I'm allergic to everything. But I would suggest if you are deeply concerned to get you complete blood work levels checked. They can also check your ANA levels n C-reactive protein. These levels can indicate an autoimmune disorder such as m.s, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis . You can see you regular physician or a Rhumatologist . Better to be save n informed then to not know. Good luck everyone finding your answers.
Guys come on.... If you take hot or warm showers than your getting a heat rash. They don't last long unless you itch it and just cool that shower down and you'll be fine if that doesn't help try other existing methods
this is a Indian head sore this is very normal to get these after showering
I have the same problem when I get out the shower or its happened once when I went to the mall and it was very hot in the mall. I know I have eczema so I'm thinking this might be another format of eczema. And heat is what brings the issues I think. Try putting baby oil all over your body while in the shower right before your about to turn water off and get out...let some cold water run over your whole body AFTER you have applied baby oil. I think it's just ppl with very dry skin that tends to have the issues we are having. Let me know if this helped anyone! Keep ur skin moisturized.

I've done your idea for 2 months now but nothing but thank you for at least trying to help the people with this problem
I've been having this problem since sometime around 2008, I'm 27 years old male, after showers I flare up with a rash it almost looks like hives but its not that aggresive. I've narrowed it down to garbage in the water mainly chlorine, The place I live has it's own well for the area all of like 100+ people living in the same area using the same well they filter it with chlorine. I've taken showers at my friends houses and didn't get the same effects. So it has to be something specific to the water I'm guessing it's chlorine and what ever else is lingering around in there. I have the same problem in pools filtered with chlorine as well. My friend had a pool he used something else to filter it or keep it clean and I didn't have a problem or reaction to it. I would assume some kind of filter might help so long as it filters out the chlorine in the water that Vitamin C filter doesn't sound to bad I might invest.
It's phisycal urticaria. Web ms has a good description. I have it too. It's not serious it's a for of allergy. I would get a diagnose from a dermatologist or ask your phisician. He'll probably recommend an antihistamine like Allegra or Claritin. Good luck
It's physical urticaria. Not serious check it out on web md. It's an allergic reaction. You must try to avoid situation that trigger it and take an antihistamine. But check with you dermatologist or phisician to get a proper diagnose and treatment. Good luck
