Red, itchy blotches on body after showering

As soon as I step out of the shower, all these little red bumps and blotches appear on by upper body, especially my upper chest. These bumps are really itchy and cover my arms, chest, and back. I have no idea what is causing this. I have tried switching different shampoos and body washes, thinking I can rule different things out. I have tried no scent shampoos and sensitive skin body wash. What is wrong with me??!!??!!

I agree! Was traveling overseas for six months in Europe and NEVER had any itch or red but after return to USA noticed it after 2nd shower. I believe they are putting terrible stuff in our tap water too! Why do we allow it? I guess it would have to be a group effort to stop it.
Its hightly likely the water hey... Your body is reacting to the water.. My little one has that problem.. Wakes up nothing wrong, during the day nothing wrong.. But when he showers or swim he breaks out on his back and arms.. Lasts about 20 min and goes away... So think it the clorine
I am 16 and I have the same problem. Its been going on for almost two years now and the red spots just keep on appearing after showering. I've tried changing my soap, switching to organic things and even stopped using soap for a few days but none of it seems to help. I've even shifted to a new place, but it doesnt matter how the water is, hot or cold, the rash keeps on appearing right after I shower. Help please!
I have had the same issue for about 10 years. My doctor diagnosed it as urticaria (hives). As long as I take my prescribed antihistamine every 2 or 3 days at that time - because they make you very drowsy- I don't get the bumps or the itching. it just sucks not having a permanent cure for it.
Scabies guys. I have this problem right now. My brother had scabies a month and a half ago and he was itching and stuff but it's been gone so we thought he was cleaned. Turned out he wasn't and gave it to me. Go to your doctor.
I also have this same problem after i have a bath or take a shower. This also happen after swimmining in the beach or the swimming pool. This is the part i dnot getbecause if it was a reaction to clorine then why do i get it from the salt beach water too??
Hi, what is the name of that product? I have the same problem and want to find a solution. Thank you
I have the same rash. I heard it could be linked to leaking root cannals. How many people in this post have had root canals?
Its urticeria hun. I have it. Like hives. If you take a strong antihistimine it will go away after a day. I have extremely sensitive skin like and get prickly heat, eczema etc. But yeah its urticaria u have, ive had it for years and years.csnt get rid of it. Its in your blood, too much histimine in your blood.
My brother and I both have had this issue since we were kids. We get about 20-50 itchy splotches all over our backs and stomachs after showers. I stopped using products with sodium lauryl sulphate (I currently use dove moisturizing body wash, Alba hair care products and sensodyne pronamel toothpaste) and have only had the splotches about 10 times in the last year, instead of daily. I also haven't had a canker sore since I switched toothpaste. I haven't convinced him to refrain from using the chemical, he still gets splotches daily.
When i step out of the shower i get a rash. All down the arms neck and face. Is it normal
I hate to be that tinfoil guy, but our water supplies are, and have been getting worse/polluted over the past few decades. Slowly getting worse. I get the same thing but only sometimes and its on my face. I have ruled out soaps and shampoo's. The only thing left is the water. Its gross to think the same water doing this to our bodies is going inside our bodies in public drinking water...
Thank you for writing. I have never linked my "passouts" to these spots, but they have typically happened after being in water. They come during Hot tubs! At a hottub party once, I blacked out and fell over, after having only half of a breezer. Food for thought
What you are describing is Cholinergic urticaria I beleive. You are basically allergic to your own sweat.
I have the same problem, but this only happens when you take extremely hot showers (Maybe doesn't seem that hot you) Because what I think is that it irritates the skin. On the beach it probably the invisible Sand Lice, they don't go in you haircut they just bite you and leave you itching with a small bump. This is only if your around sandy areas such as beaches. The small bumps are also possibly from your skin getting irritated by the type of water you use for how long you use it.
