Red, itchy blotches on body after showering

As soon as I step out of the shower, all these little red bumps and blotches appear on by upper body, especially my upper chest. These bumps are really itchy and cover my arms, chest, and back. I have no idea what is causing this. I have tried switching different shampoos and body washes, thinking I can rule different things out. I have tried no scent shampoos and sensitive skin body wash. What is wrong with me??!!??!!

THIS ALSO HAPPENS TO ME. IT'S NOT IN A BIG AREA OF SKIN, JUST ONE OR TWO SPOTS. IT CAN BE ANYWHERE FROM MY ARMS TO THE SIDE OF MY TORSO, LITTLE WHITE BUMPS WITH A DOT IN THE MIDDLE, USUALLY IN PACKS OF 2-4. I STARTED NOTICING THIS PROBLEM WHEN I MOVED IN WITH MY BOYFRIEND WHO WAS A BACHELOR FOR 13+ YEARS BEFORE ME AND NEVER CLEANED HIS HOUSE. SOME OTHER THINGS THAT I NOTICED WAS THE DUST PROBLEM IN THE HOUSE & VENTS AND MOLD PROBLEM IN THE SHOWER.    I THINK THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM THOSE THINGS IN MY CIRCUMSTANCE. DON'T TRY MEDICINE UNLESS IT'S A SERIOUS PROBLEM TRY CHANGING THINGS AROUND YOUR HOUSE LIKE CLEANING OUT VENTS AND TAKING CARE OF MOLD PROBLEMS. I HAVEN'T SOLVED MY PROBLEM YET BUT I WILL LET YOU KNOW THE OUTCOME WHEN I DO.
im 13 and have been deeling with these spots on my upper body for about a year now. i dont know what its from but get them after going in the pool shower beach whatever type of water. its really haard because my friends always see the bites and ask me what it is, i just tell them i react badly to sea lice. i want my parents to take me to the doctors about it, but mum just keeps saying its head lice or sea lice to. but i know its not see lice or head lice or any type of bug. i put all my clothes in hot water and sheets and pillows. but it did not make a difference. i just wish there was someone i knew going through with the same problem so i wouldnt have to feel so bad. i cant go to the beach or go in my pool with friends or it shows, (I JUST WANT THEM TO EFFIN DISSAPEAR ALREADDYYYYYYYY GRR THERE ANOYINGG MEEE)  PS they stay on my body for about an hour afterwards! GRR SO ANOYING. o.O   these bites suck, i knoow what your going through if you have them to
Quote:  Hey sweetheart. You don't have t worry, this isn't bites or lice.If it was lice, then the other kids would be getting it aswell, not only you. What it is, is the harsh water what your swimming/taking a bath in. Pool & Tap water is very harsh, their good for washing in aslong as you treat your skin properly before AND after. What to do is, get a shower gel or lotion that has a high SPF and is fragrance free, you can get these from Health stores anywhere. The high spf protects the broken out skin from the sun & make sure it waterproof & also use a fragrance free moisturiser and use about and hour before you go to the pool or bath and use AFTER you come out, make sure that you dont go back in the water once you do moisturise. You just have sensitive skin sweetheart and there's nothing to worry about. I know its embarrassing, but you just need to explain to your mum that if it WAS water lice, then why do your friends or that not have bites? Also what what kinda of fabric softner and pefumes ect. Try and spray the perfume onto clothing instead of your skin & maybe use a fragranced moisturiser every now and then :).Just take to your mum and ask that you'd really like another opinion on it...go to a health centre or chemist and ask them and they will advise you on what to use :)I hope this helps sweetheart :)Rosie xxx
Look up aquagenic urticaria. I have this problem, too, only it doesn't go away for a few days, so I try to space out my showers as much as possible and spongebathe in between. But when I finally have to wash my hair, it starts all over again and is extremely unpleasant. I also have eczema all over my hands, but I don't think that's related.
I GET THIS RED ITCHY BUMPS ALL OVER MY CHEST AND BACK AND RECENTLY A FEW ON MY NECK. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS AFTER A WARM SHOWER AND AFTER DOING EXERCISE AS WELL. THEY STOP ITCHING IF I SPRAY WHATEVER ALCOHOLIC SUBSTANCE I HAVE OUT THERE IN MY VANITY LIKE PERFUME. I THOGHT IT WAS THE CHLORINE IN THE WATTER, BUT WHEN I STARTED HAVING THEM WITH MY SWEAT I CHANGED MY MIND. I SOMETIMES I SWEAM IN THE POOL THAT HAS LOTS OF CHLORINE AND I DONT SEEM TO GET THEM, SO THE CHLORINE IS NOT THE CAUSE, IS THE COMBINATION OF HEAT WITH WATER AND SWEAT.DOES ANYBODY KNOWS WHAT REALLY CAUSES THEM? AND THE CURE? I WILL TRY THE ACNE MEDICATION GEL LIKE A PERSON HERE SUGGESTED. BUT DEFINITELY TRY ALCOHOL, IT DOES STOP THE ITCHINESS, THE BUMPS DONT DISAPPEAR AFTER 20-30 MIN. SUGGESTIONS?
When I get these bumps they are only from my neck to my stomach and I get them after sweating. I take ballet and sometimes I get them after sweating a lot which is all of the time. There are usually little white bumps in the middle of them after showering and sweating. Sometimes if I drink cold water they go away sooner but then if I sweat or shower again they come back. If I swim I don't get them probably because of the cooler water. Can anybody give me a suggestion to how to get rid of them for good?

I am having the same problem. After every shower and sometimes after I get out of the pool (though not as bad) I get red itchy blotches all over my body. Mostly on my stomach, neck, and chest. I started getting them maybe a year ago and have no idea what's causing them! When I gist showed my mom, she said it could be from the heat. I try to take cooler showers and they still happen even though its less. I also tried changing soaps and shampoos multiple times but nothing has worked. Some days they are worse than others. They look a bit like masquito bites but more....blotchy! I just want them to go away! SOMEBODY PLS HELP!
I have a similar problem - upper middle of my chest turns red after exposure to water, though it doesn't get particularly itchy.  It's just visually embarassing.  Goes away after awhile (half hour ish).  Sometimes also acts up when exposed to sun (tanning).  I think it's got to be a fungus.  I had a similar situation once with ringworm on my back, though that was a lot itchier.  It would get red particularly after exposure to hot water, then the redness would go away but it would be itchy throughout the day.  I saw a doctor for the back ringworm, he prescribed me some anti-fungal shampoo, and it went away completely after a week using that.  I saw a different doctor about my chest (happened years later), and she said it was nothing, that some people just get red after hot showers.  I think she's wrong and wasn't schooled enough in skin issues.  She was just a GP, not a derm.  I'm trying a treatment now with Selsun Blue (antifungal shampoo).  I'm doing what I did with the other shampoo - lathering it up on the area, letting it sit for 10 minutes, then washing off.  I'm going to give it a couple weeks and see if it goes away.  Will report back.
I first noticed this a couple days again when I stepped out of a hot shower in the morning. I was itching really bad where I had these red blotches with a raised sesame-sized center on my chest, back and arms. I thought I was sick! but they went again within an hour. I've been seeing them ever since in fact just now after a warm shower. I don't know what they are and I'm not sure what to do. I'm not the even the allergic type of person. Hardly ever experienced allergies
same with me. my parents say: use a different soap! NOT HELPING!!! now I just shower real fast and I get less of it.
Okay i have suffered with this same ailment and i wont lie it sucks. If you get scientific with it there is a chemical in the water that causes an increase in histamine, which is a hormone that your body produces, this hormone causes inflammation, itching, and well anything else you would relate to an allergic reaction. Being a pharmacy technician the only reasonable way to fix this would be to invest in an antihistamine. Which is zyrtec or even a generic. If you go to your doctor you will most likely get told the same exact thing. One thing for sure though is that it has completely stopped the breakouts and the results are almost instant if taken the night before. So give it a try! I promise its well worth it!
Same thing here. I get quite dizzy after a shower every now and then and i also get these little red itchy spots after a shower.I am not sure why, but i do know it is not from a bug.
Has anyone considered it may be an allergy to chloramine. (No, I do not mean chlorine). In the last 6 years more and more of the United States has gone from the traditional chlorinated water to chloriminated water. The reason for the switch is the research that has shown that chlorine has cancer causing properties and in an attempt to resolve this many water companies across the country are switching to chloramine. The problem is that the byproducts of chloramine are 100xs more carcinogenic (cancer causing) than chlorine and chloramine has caused hundreds of people across the United States (including myself) to react with severe skin rashes. If you think this could possibly be the issue call your water company and ask them if they put chloramine in the water then experiment and see if when you leave your house and travel to a place that has a well or water company that does not use chloramine if the rash improves at all after showering. You may find that you have an allergy to chloramine and if you do, you are not alone. Here is a website:  http://www.chloramineinfocenter.net/. I will say there are some wonderful people that are attempting to legally show just how dangerous chloramine is to those of us living in the United States. IF you feel that you are one of the individuals suffering from a chloramine allergy please contact someone from that site... Thank you!
I have this too in the upper body. Red marks with white spots in the middle of them. I look a mess when i come out!
