severe inner thigh cramps

I have recently been having sever, debilitating, paralyzing cramps so bad and break out in a sweat..feel like Im going to die from it...the only thing that worked for me is to eat baking soda and chase it with water...but have to drink from a straw in the glass as I cant raise my head to even drink the water..cant even move..totally paralized...leg draws up and foot twists too..this cramp is in the inner thigh only one leg at a time tho...no Dr. has any idea..people have also told me to drink tonic water for the quinine and take potassium pills drink more water and take magnesium too..also eat a banana...one even said to take a capful of vinegar, which also worked..but I have acid reflux so bad so that burned my throat..so no more vinegar..but that did work too the baking soda is the best for me for the quick fix when it starts..I have water and baking soda everywhere I sit and next to my bed...so paralized I could never go get anything..I also have to yell liker Im delivering a gorilla as the pain is the worst pain I have ever experienced...then inside of thigh that had the cramp is sore like bruised for days after ...drinking more water too to hydrate myself...but then drank too much fluid and now ankles are swelled up (edema) so baking off so much water...now taking soda as a preventive ..there is no warning with these so even have an open bottle of soda and a water bottle in the car console so if it happens tp me behing the wheel of the car..which it has on two occasions...what causes this? am having echo test and vein asp test soon to see if something is wrong with vein blood flow or my heart...will keep this post going when I get results...

Thx so much for sharing! YesI too am so thankful to have found this blog tonight. Had another episode involving both thighs—a turning point moment! I’ve GOT to get some answers. What a relief to know there are others who know firsthand what I’m going through.
I’m not Maggiefromcali but I relate to the symptoms. I’ve had my thyroid levels checked & they were normal
You all sound like me, I am sorry...I've been drinking a magnesium drink called stress-X it is all that helps me...its kind of an effervescent drink that gets in and works quick with the beyond excruciating binding pain that feels like someone is pulling your veins tight like shoestring...it started in one leg on inner thigh its traveled to the shins and ankle on on both legs paralyzing hurts so bad that I don't even know I'm crying
I feel for you I have had these cramps for nearly 20 years And I feel like im going to pass out or die And my Dr only looks at me like he has no clue what I am trying to explain him , It seems like no matter what I take for these cramps .They are just going to happen any way .This is terrifying to me when I cant move and screaming in this much pain and nothing works for it what can you do .I hope some how some one will find and answer to this
This hilarious post by Poodle girl with her serious upper thigh cramp has hit home with me. I have been researching, too trying to understand and find a resolve for my
own self. I am a strong, active, busy 59 year old man, with some hip pain normally. But almost out of no where the inner thigh usually on the left side of my body will begin cramping enough to make this grown man yell out for help, cry in pain, even became fearful as it then traveled to the exact part of my right upper inner thigh. I became as Poodlegirl noted paralyzed in pain, helpless, could feel the bulging knot at my hip/thigh areas. We were moments away from calling an ambulance...excruciating event lasting 25-30 minutes.
Thanks
James

Try stress-x its a drink after getting it down only takes a bit for cramps to stop I got desperate and just showed some under my tongue that helps too
Omg I’m so thankful to read all your experiences. I’m 63 female. Not as thin as I’d like. Eat too much sugar on no meds. Have herniated discs plus plus. Have stenosis of the spinal column. I need to drink more. I need more mag, more potassium. I’m trying Valium atm. But omg. When the cramp hits both inner thighs I wish I’d die. I can’t move I can’t stand. It seems to happen more when I stand but sometimes the pain in my lower back catches me and I can’t move. I’m scared that f I do I’ll start off a cramp. I’m laying in bed now with a hot water bottle between my legs. It starts just above knee and feels like someone is grabbing that muscle all the time. The cramps have me groaning. Can’t believe I’m a groaner! I have magnesium spray and have to get my partner to spray it on and rub it because I can’t let go of my thighs. They last twenty minutes to half an hour on average. I was starting quinine. But heard here it’s dangerous. Why? I have been rubbing arnica in too. I’m taking Celebrex for my back and wonder if it is contributing. If I don’t take it my back packs up. I drink tonic water. I just want to go hiking somewhere… anywhere… but I’m starting to think if this is me at 63 I don’t want to get to 73. I have never experienced pain like it. It is relentless as you all know. Who would have thought we’d all get this kind of pain. I’m having a naturopathic appointment on Wednesday …. So I’ll see what she says. Actually I think it’s progressed since I got delta too. So grateful to have found this site. Don’t give up we have to beat this don’t we. There has to be solutions. There are lots of similarities between us. Thanks everyone for what you are posting
