Why was I born with two different color eyelashes

I was born with blond eyelashes over my left eye and black eyelashes over my right eye. It is very noticable to me so I avoid mackup as this excentuates the fact that they don't match. I have met many people with different color eyes but never any one else with different color eyelashes. What is a good way to deal with this?

I too have different colour eye lashes, blonde on my left and black on my right, I get them tinted .
My left eyelashes and eyebrow are bleach blonde and my right eyelashes and eyebrow are dark brown. My hair also is mainly blonde on the left side and darker on the right. I used to hate it growing up by I finally embrace it as being unique. Women spend hundreds of dollars a year to get highlights/lowlights..I have them naturally. Embrace it.
That goes for me too! I can't live without mascara but I'm also worried about my lashes
I have blonde eye lashes one side and dark brown on the others, I avoid going out without makeup on becuase it is quite obvious, tinting them doesn't really help, but I once met a lady who was fascinated by them, she thought they were a makeup artists/photographers dream and ever since then I haven't felt so self conscious about them. So I say embrace them it's what makes up unique
Hi, my daughter has the same. Her right has patches of what seems red now and the left is all Brown. I've never seen anything like it and we always get stares and people commenting. Just curious, what is the hair like now.
Wow, so happy to read that there are others that have the same issue. My left eye is blonde while my my right is brown. I have pale skin and blue eyes so the non-definition of the left eye makes look a bit albino like. I've been dying my eyelashes at home. I also have a white patch of hair at the base of my skull, under my ear. Only visible when I put my hair up. Now that I'm older it looks like a patch of grey. Not overly happy about that. My left eyebrow is also a little lighter than the right but not overly noticeable. I had never heard of anyone (or seen!) having the same condition. I saw a man of Mediterranean ethnicity the other day with a completely blonde eye which got me thinking about it. Nice to know I'm in a unique club.
I was born with my left eyebrow and eyelash blonde, and my right eyebrow and eyelash brown. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I really like it. I'm unique, and I thank God for specially making me different then everyone else. :)
Love reading this feed! For years (aka 25 years), I thought I was the only one of my kind. I feel like I need to "identify" myself, I am left brown for eyebrows and eyelashes and right blonde. I was also born blonde but now have brown hair, with the exception of the back underpart of my hair which has remained blonde. Furthermore, since my blonde portion does not carry pigmentation, it does not dye. Anyone else experience this? I've always referred to my --well, now our-- condition as "codominance". I established that terms probably half a decade ago when I was desperately searching the internet for anything and everything regarding my different colored features and stumbled upon the term. Codominance basically means that when my genes were forming and trying to determine what color my eyebrows would be, they decided to split the difference and go halfsies. Hence, codominance. Regardless, I love/hate that I am no longer unique! Here's to us, the folks who've been asked if they've shaved an eyebrow, put makeup on only half their face, and feel like they have two very different side poses in pictures!
Hi. Just curious, what's the hair looks like now? One year on. Can you post a picture, my little one is same.
i was born with two different colored eyelashes too. im actually glad i know im not alone now.
OK this is crazy I'm a dude but I have exactly the same problem. But I will never be wearing makeup on my face. I think it makes you and me more unique.
I have brown hair and brown red facial hair and all of a sudden brown red eyelashes that happened at 26 believe it or not looking for ansrers and your post is the closest ive found thx
Me too! I have white-blonde eyelashes on my right eye and dark brown nearly black eyelashes on my left. Similar to a lot of the commenters I also have dirty blonde hair, and my eyebrow on the blonde side is half brown and half blonde so it looks like half of it is missing :/ I don't know if this matters but my eyes are light blue with a tiny bit of yellow in the middle and my eyesight is great, although I did used to have a mildly lazy eye on the blonde side. I got bullied for it when I was younger but it's whatever. I'm glad there's other people like me though!
This is not dominant vs ressisve gene..its condition I believe called allopicia.I know someone who has areas of skin with no pigment at all.it looks like sunflower with pink center and regular color around..in cases were black people have ancestry with northern Europeans they can have dark black with pink skin bloches...the pigment complex is related to neural nerve tissue,so when these areas form over recepitive areas like eyes, you lose sight,or other senses....people with this condition are incredibly beautiful..embrace your difference.
I am an adopted Chinese girl and know nothing of my biological parents. All my eyelashes are black except for one blond eyelash on my right eye. I only noticed this recently in the past couple months. I cut some of the blond eyelash off but it grew back as the same colour. What would you call this?
